Dr. R. K. PADHY
Dr. Ramakrushna Padhy has received his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He also has a B.Tech in Mechanical engineering and PG diploma in Industrial Engineering. He has 18 years of consulting experience in operations management area with clients from public, private and government organisations. Some of them include Airport Authority of India, NALCO, NTPC, Garden Reach Ship Builders, Reliance Industries, Aditya Birla Group, L&T, Bharat Gears Ltd, Ministry of Power, DCMSME, OMC, OPTCL, ICFRE, UNDP, World Bank and various government departments, both at centre and state level. He was part of the team for execution and monitoring of the prestigious Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme (LMCS) formulated for improving the competitiveness of Indian industries by National Manufacturing Competitive Council (NMCC), Govt. of India. He is an empanelled Lean Consultant to the Government of India for Lean implementation and holds Black Belt certification in Six Sigma from Advanced Manufacturing Technology Associates, Glenview, Motorola.
Before joining IIM Kashipur in 2014, Dr Padhy held senior leadership roles at the National Productivity Council, under Department of Industrial Promotion and Policy, Govt. of India, New Delhi
Currently, he is Chairman of Lean Operations Cell under Centre of Excellence Sustainable Development. He is passionate about developing problem-solving and system thinking capabilities to support continuous improvement and organisational transformation. Dr Padhy’s consulting practice is based on performance improvement through process and system improvement by application of lean and six sigma
Received best research paper award on Implementation of Spreadsheet Based Capacity Planning Tool for an Auto Component Manufacturer at Society of Operations Management (SOM) Conference at IIITM Gwalior.
Received Bronze prize in 7th Indian Management Conclave held at IIM Ahmedabad for Leadership in Corporate Engagement for the Initiative titled “Improving Competitiveness through Lean Manufacturing for MSME Cluster of Ashok Leyland.”
